Caitlyn Shaw

Caitlyn Shaw is an Architecture Associate at Chancey Architecture, bringing a unique global perspective and a passion for sustainable, community-centered design. Originally from Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa, Caitlyn’s diverse background deeply influences her approach to architecture, focusing on creating spaces that enhance quality of life and promote environmental stewardship.

Caitlyn moved to the United States in 2018 to pursue her Master’s in Architecture at the University of South Florida, where she graduated in 2024. Her academic journey culminated in a thesis exploring sustainable modular housing for impoverished communities in South Africa, a project that fueled her commitment to addressing housing inequality through innovative, eco-friendly design solutions.

Her professional interests are rooted in residential architecture, sustainable practices, and community development. Caitlyn is particularly drawn to designing spaces that foster social connection while minimizing environmental impact, with a special focus on projects that support underserved communities.

Outside of the office, Caitlyn enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, and yoga, with a deep love for spending time near the beach. Road trips are one of her favorite pastimes, allowing her to explore new places and find inspiration in the landscapes she encounters.
